It was a lovely, much deserved weekend. My brain has yet to return to full functioning capacity and I am short on time, so in order to avoid reader complaints, here is: The Weekend in 7 Snaps.
It wouldn't be a lovely weekend without crazy hair and nautical stripes. By the way, 30 for 30 is complete! I'm pretty sure this shirt made its way into the line-up 29 1/2 times. Also, 30 is an entity that deserves a post all its own.
RealSimple's slow cooker spinach, mozarella, and ricotta lasagna recipe became even more delicious and healthy with whole wheat lasagna noodles.
Sunday's crafternoon was spent on the beginnings of a display for what I like to call my domestic formal attire collection, everyone else just calls them aprons. Everyone else is boring.
Song of the weekend, Fleet Foxes, Your Protector. Was not a huge fan of these guys at first, but after several hundred listens to this song, I may just be a fan...of this song, at least.
Ingredients and notions storage jars! Painted by me! Kitchen Swan loves them.
#8 is not from the weekend, it's actually from this afternoon. Tricia Gail and I went on an impulsive area rug shopping spree. Here's how it happened:
TG: My house is dull. I need more color.
LM: I agree. Let's play with the candles and kitchen towels at Target to figure out a color scheme for your house.
TG: OK, or we could wander down the area rug aisle and I'll buy one of those if Danny doesn't answer his phone!
LM: Great idea, I definitely don't need a new area rug, but I just can't trust one from RW&B. Throw one in the cart for me, too!
The rest is history. I do love my new area rug, though. It's called Exploded Floral Nuetral. Tricia's is Bright Exploded Flowers . I'll have to link it because she never posts on her blog. Even though, I received a lovely image via txt msg of said new home decor with said Danny in the background using a Swiffer to clean. Seriously, her new rug deserves a post. As for the boy who cleans, TG, you are set for life.
Hope you all had likewise lovely weekends,
-L
